Tyze.com is an open online community that encourages discussion and change. To create a safe and harassment-free space for discussion, we’ve established these guidelines. When you register and use Tyze you agree to abide by these terms of use, which may be updated from time to time.

You represent and warrant that comments posted by you on the site will not defame, compromise the trade secrets or confidential information of, or violate the copyright or other intellectual property rights of, any third party.

We may sometimes link to outside websites that are related to the site discussion and that we believe may be of interest to you. These links are not provided for the purposes of marketing or advertising, and we are not responsible for the content or practices of other websites. Tyze receives no compensation for posting any external links on Tyze. We do not endorse any other website that site users may refer to or link to in their posts.

You represent and warrant that any postings you make to the site will not contravene any applicable law. Should any content or postings contravene any applicable law, Tyze Personal Networks Ltd. may be required to pass on details to the relevant authorities.

You agree not to use this site to distribute any computer viruses or computer code designed to disrupt the servers or computer equipment used to host or operate the site itself, or any computer used by a member of the community to access the site.

Privacy Policy Statement

Tyze has made your privacy a high priority. To guide us in our business decisions and to earn the trust of network members, Tyze has adopted the following client information principles:

Accountability
Tyze is responsible for any personal information under its control and for designating individual(s) accountable for compliance with the following principles.

Identifying Purposes
The purposes for collecting your personal information shall be identified at or before the time the information is collected.

Your knowledge and consent is required for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information, except where inappropriate.

The collection of personal information required by Tyze shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by Tyze. Information shall be collected by fair and lawful means. Data from Tyze may also be used in the aggregate to help us learn about how Tyze is being used and make Tyze better.

The personal information required by Tyze shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, including for research purposes, except with your permission or as required by law. Your personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes. Tyze makes no guarantees about the use, disclosure, retention, or security of additional personal information submitted on a voluntary basis to Tyze, such as that which you may provide in a personal member profile.

Accuracy
Your personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.

Safeguards
Security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information shall protect the personal information required by Tyze. While every effort will be made to ensure the security and privacy of networks on Tyze, we cannot guarantee the security of additional personal information submitted on a voluntary basis to Tyze, such as the optional information you may provide in a personal member profile.

Openness
Tyze will make readily available to you specific information about its policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.

Individual Access
Upon request, you will be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of your personal information and shall be given access to that information. You can question the accuracy and completeness of your personal information and have it amended as appropriate.

Information Collected On This Site
Any information collected, used or disclosed by us will be in accordance with our Privacy Policy. For the purposes of this site, certain information such as your username, password and email address are required for registration. Any other information you submit to develop your profile is optional. We may collect information about your computer, including your IP address and browser/platform set up so we can understand the kinds of people who use this site. For each user, Tyze logs access times, session lengths, and IP addresses.

We collect an email address to confirm your registration on the site. We won’t use your email address to contact you for marketing purposes.
We might also contact you by email to discuss content that has been identified as offensive or to discuss technical issues and best practices (for example, we may contact you if your postings somehow affect the way our site functions), or to contact you about research activities.

We will not sell your information or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Only in exceptional circumstances, such as when required by law, will we disclose your personal information externally.

All content published on Tyze remains the property of the original author. Any content authored by authored by Tyze Personal Networks, their employees, agents or subcontractors remains the copyright of Tyze.

Comments or opinions expressed on the site are those of their respective contributors only. The views expressed by outside contributors do not represent the views of Tyze Personal Networks, its management, or employees. Tyze is not responsible and disclaims any and all liability for the content of comments written by outside contributors to the site.

Content published in Tyze networks is private. Re-posting information shared within a network to outside sources, including online, print and other media, without the permission of the original contributor, and of anyone mentioned or depicted in the message either named or unnamed, is prohibited and may result in termination of your account.

While every effort will be made to ensure the privacy of networks on Tyze, we cannot guarantee the security of any postings you submit to the site, nor any damages that result from the content you publish to the site. Please take extreme care with any personal, sensitive data such as SINs, health records etc.

Content deemed to be offensive by any member of the community will be removed from the site and subject to review by the site moderator.

Procedures
Tyze shall make readily available specific information about its policies and procedures relating to the management of personal information and will make these easy to understand, including:

(a) the title and address of the person or persons accountable for Tyze compliance with its Privacy Policy and to whom inquiries and/or complaints can be forwarded;
(b) the means of gaining access to personal information held by Tyze;
(c) a description of the type of personal information held by Tyze, including a general account of its use; and
(d) a description of what personal information is made available to related organizations.

We will investigate all complaints concerning compliance with our Privacy Policy. If the complaint is justified, Tyze will take appropriate measures to resolve the complaint including, if necessary, amending our policies and procedures. We will inform the complaintant of the outcome of the investigation regarding his or her complaint.

Our Privacy Policy is subject to the requirements and provision of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) and any other applicable legislation or regulation including the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia).
